Indian Television serial “Choti Sarrdaarni”, which is getting started on ‘Colors TV’ from 1st July, 2019 is playing with the emotions and feelings of Sikhs, we are being represented in totally Wrong way from what it Truly is! The serial is actually representing the life of Sardaarni/Singhni/Kaur/Sikh Female in totally different way from what it actually is. The “Sikh Rehat Maryada” is not followed, they are representing Sikhs different from what they actually are,  so it should be banned, it should be stopped from being cast on the television before it starts. THE PRODUCERS/MAKERS HAVE NO RIGHT TO PLAY WITH THE FEELINGS AND EMOTIONS OF ANY COMMUNITY FOR THE PURPOSE OF ENTERTAINMENT. They have NO right to play with the Feelings of ‘Sikh Community’. They should apologize for the mistake they have done. 

Some scenes/incidents being depicted in the serial are:-

1) A girl who calls her choti Sardaarni is taking rounds(Fere) around fire for getting married, whereas there is not trend of taking fere around fire in the sikh religion. We follow and practise the Anand Karaj for getting married which takes place in the presence of our Guru Sahib. 

2) The same girl(who calls her choti Sardaarni) is walking on Burning Coal in order to fulfill her wishes, whereas we do Ardaas in front of our Guru sahib to fulfill our wishes.

3) The Girl named Choti Sardaarni is wearing Nose pin and different ornaments which are not allowed to be weared by Sardaarnis’. It is the order of our Guru Sahib not to make holes in nose and ear and wear such ornaments. 

4) In this serial, the girl named as Choti Sardaarni has followed different hairstyles including cutting of hair, dying of hair, etc. It is the order of our Guru Sahib (Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji) not to Cut hair or dye them with different colours. 

5) Cutting hair of any part of the body is not allowed to Sikhs according to the Sikh Rehat Maryada and as per the orders of Guru Sahib. The girl  named as Choti Sardaarni has cut the hairs of her eyebrows, going against Sikh Rules of Living (Rehat Maryada). 

6) According to the Orders of our Guru Sahib, every Sikh (either male or female) is supposed to cover his/her hairs. In the serial, the woman naming her Choti Sardaarni is not covering her hair going against Sikh rehat maryada and repr esenting sikhs in wrong way. Also, the man playing the role of her husband is having cutted hair (short hair), not covering them in many scenes as he is a non-sikh. While according to Sikh Maryada only a Sikh Man could marry to a sikh woman.

7) The principles of Sikh religion have also not been represented properly. The makers have changed them as per the script, as per their choice.

8) Changing the word ‘Singhni’ to sikhni as per their requirement.

9) There is news that " a girl calling her choti Sardaarni in this serial is pregnent before her marriage, a mother of illegitimate child(najayaz)". Though if it's true, it is very shameful for our community because it is the order of our Guru Sahib not to have unauthorized accompany of men or woman before marriage. This act/scene totally downfalls the respect of a Sardaarni and affects the  sentiments of Sikhs.

So, it is my request to whole Sikh Community and the supporters to protest against the Serial “Choti Sarrdaarni” by Signing this petition to make pressure on the Channel “Colors TV” (or “Colors”) to stop the telecast of this serial. They can't play with sentiments of Sikhs. Looking Forward for your support............!!!
