Incredible! Take a moment to celebrate -- together, we've hit 4,000 signatures! Your voices are so very powerful, united. It truly does matter. Please do continue to share and encourage others to join together and protect this special land. A quick click is all it takes to make a huge difference. Also, if you haven't done so, please take a second to: Ask the Mayor to Stop the Swap. You can read some of the many posts to the previous update for inspiration. Here's another one below which so many people were moved by - especially her willingness to share her personal story. Thank you so very much, Cathy Chambers. Even a short email goes a long way. There are so many issues to raise, and everyone is moved by a different piece. What moves you? Ask the Mayor to use his power to end this now. Email jsuthers@springsgov.com and be sure to copy these people for transparency (this is important): AllCouncil@springsgov.com, news@csindy.com,news@kktv.com,foxnews@fox21news.com,news@koaa.com,krdonews@krdo.com, friendsofcheyennecanon@gmail.com,cory@medwheel.org, savecheyennemountain@gmail.com,jpaul@denverpost.com,miguel.bustillo@wsj.com,jim.carlton@wsj.com,news-tips@nytimes.com,scoop@huffingtonpost.com,lryckman@denverpost.com Reprinted with permission. Mayor Suthers, It's terribly hard for me to write this letter. I voted for you. I put my trust in you, in your judgement and I feel betrayed. I am a survivor of a brain tumor that has left me physically impaired. I walk my dogs every day at Strawberry Fields. There is a lovely path that is manageable for me. On good days I walk through Strawberry Field. I stand on top of that hill and I think this is what I fought for, I feel beauty and strength run through my veins. I feel alive and now there is a possibility you're taking this away from me and many others. You're going to destroy this precious land for pony rides and weddings or whatever else the Broadmoor decides to do because once they own it, it's their land. Not only that, but the Broadmoor says it's open to the public but we must ride a shuttle. You're taking away my parking. How can I ride a shuttle with my dogs? They won't even tell us if dogs are allowed on the shuttle. I don't understand the greed and how someone could interfere with this precious land. You Mayor Suthers have the power to stop this. Somehow, I hope your gut wakes you up as well as your heart and your conscience to man up and do the right thing. I have no idea how you could possibly live with destroying Strawberry Fields for the rest of your life, destroying God's gift to Colorado Springs. Stand tall Mayor Suthers, man up and do what's right for all of us that respect nature and God's gift to mankind. Cathy Chambers
