PLEASE ATTEND THE NEXT COMMUNITY MEETING: Wednesday, March 30, 2016 6 - 8 pm Gold Camp Elementary School 1805 Preserve Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80906 We anticipate that much of this meeting will be taken up with an update to their presentation with more details on use as well as the much anticipated appraisal data. We encourage you to speak up and demand for your voice to be heard. Ask that they are respectful of the public's time and expediently update us and allow the public to comment. Here's a link to several questions posed by many which remain unanswered and might be helpful to you. Please do pose these questions yourselves in writing or at the meeting. They are important questions, and the public deserves earnest and honest answers to each and every one of them: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1PNQLcrdH2Hsp0z9aMU4RuDRTcJCt8WBC5DVcd51_eKs/edit?usp=sharing We anticipate more discussion of trash and stewardship of the land, and the Park's Department incompetency when it comes to caring for just Strawberry Fields not much more challenging pieces like the Incline. Past behavior is the best predictor of future. Here's a link to GPS tagged photos of trash, soil erosion, power line safety issues, and inhospitable fences on Broadmoor land: We encourage you to print and share these: https://goo.gl/photos/P4J6Z4LtDQisH8aY7 Appraisal data is also expected to be revealed. Several people have asked questions about the early appraisals turned estimates published in the Gazette and touted by various leaders of groups and Councilman King. We believe Kent Obee's presentation at the Town Hall meeting was so very kind and generous. The data from the assessor records supports a 3 to 1 to 6 to 1 valuation favoring the Broadmoor. If you use park zoning for Bear Creek land to since Strawberry is zoned as a park, then that apples to apples shows a Broadmoor land valuation of $785,513.64. Here's a link to Kent's info which doesn't use PK Zoning of Bear Creek (an apples to apples approach we believe is needed to compare to Strawberry Fields which is PK Zoned). Even so, the numbers are so far from what was initially touted -- and, proportionally, one would expect the values to be in line with El Paso County records, right?: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0ByaB2U0Lp1oUTFFGMWd1VDNnSWc/view?usp=sharing Your voices ARE making a difference. Stay strong. This is a bad deal for Nature, the wildlife and us. Speak for the voiceless.
