Criminal Justice System worker racial prejudice screenings.

Criminal Justice System worker racial prejudice screenings.
The Issue
I have been a victim of being falsely accused as a criminal, and put into harms way strictly based on being African American. My friends and I pulled into a parking lot. As we proceeded to exit the vehicle we were told “not to move” and to “keep our hands up,” by a police car that had pulled up behind us. Two more police cars followed. We were told one by one to exit the vehicle. With guns drawn and aimed at us, the police asked if we had any weapons, frisked us, and sat us on the curb without answering my questions about why this was happening. They took photos of us and yelled at us for continuing to ask why we were in this situation. After finding out that we were innocent, they said that there were car break ins around the area and they assumed it was us. I later looked at the police report that said look for a group of men in a black Honda. My car is bright red and there was no proof of us being at the crime scene. There are too many cases like this that have resulted in tragic outcomes. This needs to be stopped. Officers and other employees of the Criminal Justice System should be screened for racial prejudices. This could put an end to police brutality.
