Investigate the Conduct of Jason Regler
The Issue
Jason Regler (@Jayreg1969) has been tweeting abuse towards Coldplay fans and accusing them of being not "true fans" for having more than one Xyloband. He is taking photos of unknown fans online and captioning them with rude comments, saying they are disappointing Coldplay for having more than one Xyloband. He says there will not be enough left for everyone when surely this is not the fault of fans but those involved in distributing them who allow more than one to be taken. Additionally, fans in these pictures can have obtained these from multiple concerts or borrowed their friends' for a picture. He is insulting fans who spend their hard-earned money, travel great distances and wait around all day to see their heroes. He is also threatening to have people kicked out of the stadium for wearing more than one Xyloband which is worrying fans who will attend multiple dates as they would like to wear their Xylobands from previous concerts. He does not speak for Coldplay, despite claiming to, we know how much they cherish their fans and are grateful for them. However, it is a slap in the face to fans who give people like Jason their job only to have him speak to us in such a disrespectful way.
We are asking Coldplay's management to investigate their current relationship with Jason Regler and if it is found to be unsatisfactory, explore other options for the wristbands.
Jason's rudeness is not limited just to Twitter, he has harassed fans at concerts both on the Mylo Xyloto tour and on the current A Head Full of Dreams Tour. This has made their concerts a miserable experience. On the previous tour, fans were hired to assist with the distribution of Xylobands. At many shows there are more than are required with sometimes boxes being left. We believe Jason is not conscious of fans having a good time but rather his own profits as the less Xylobands used, the more money he makes.
Jason is ruining the concert experience for some fans. He is behaving in an unprofessional and rude manner. There are thousands of wearable tech companies out there, surely the band can use another with more professional staff members?
