Support the Memorial to Liam Flynn remaining In Donadea Forest
The Issue
Liam flynn was a local lad from Clane, He grew up in the community playing Gaelic, Hurling & Soccer. He came from a family of 11 who still live locally. He moved to America at the age of 22 & joined the Marines. He married and had a daughter. Before her 1st birthday Liam was tragically killed in a training mission while on a black hawk helicopter on March 10th 2015. In july 2016 there was a beautiful cherry blossom tree planted with a plaque which tells you Liams story. Almost 4 years later Coillte have received a complaint and the family have been asked to remove the surrounding flagstones along with the scripted plaque. For anyone who has saw this, they can agree that it fits in seamlessly with the surrounding monument & forest. Liam is buried in Arlington cemetery, Washington D.C. This small monument is where his family and friends can go to visit him, share stories of his amazing life and bravery. Every year I run a fund raiser in honour of his name which is for terminally ill children of the share a dream foundation, it has become a place for those children to go to also thank Liam. Help us keep this monument where it belongs in this beautiful place liam loved and regularly played as a child & help us keep it so we can still visit a brother, a child a friend and forever a hero.
