We got a letter from Coillte last Friday evening, who are to kill the wild Irish goat population in the nearby wood, in Maam, this Saturday, 3rd December. The reason these goats are being culled is because they would be 'detrimental to the establishment of the newly planted trees' (yet to be planted).  It's very upsetting to think that these innocent animals would be killed, when other options could be explored. All my life, and for decades before, these wild goats have been in the village. I don't think that they deserve to die like this and I would be very grateful if people could object to this culling. They should be left alone to live the life they have always lived in this village. Thank you.
