Build a park at Mtn. Ridge that residents want, not a 27 court pickleball arena.

The City of Highland is proposing to build a 27-court National pickle ball tournament facility, the largest in the State, on a 17-acre parcel in the middle of a residential neighborhood. Other large pickle ball tournament facilities in Utah and around the country are located in large sports complexes in or near commercial or industrial zones that are close to freeways or other commuter highways. In addition, no traffic or noise studies have been done for this proposed tournament facility.

We, the undersigned, do NOT support a 27-court pickle ball tournament facility at Mountain Ridge Park. We do not want our quiet, already worn neighborhood streets becoming thoroughfares for National, Regional, and local pickle ball tournaments. This type of facility does not belong in a 17-acre neighborhood park surrounded mostly by homes in the middle of a single-family residential zone.

We, the community members, would like to propose an alternate Mountain Ridge Park Plan.
