Well, it has been an interesting year. We have a working group meeting to learn some stats next week.
We have heard through numerous tour company employees that their companies are intending to avoid GI entirely next year. We will see how this summers stats come after the meeting next week.
In the meantime, everyone is aware of the newly introduced pay parking structure for personal vehicles that have been implemented for next year, if not, please go to their website. This is welcome news and was something we have advocated to reduce the congestion on the island. However, in accordance with their desire to increase pedestrian traffic on the island, we strongly disagree with their bus parking position and are advocating for the elimination of fees and an increase in the parking spaces available on the island during the high season. Remember, our position was for 3 hours a day only of increased bus parking. 1/8 of the day.
