I want to have this petition support the policies being more flexible to have Service animals and ESAs (Emotional Support Animals) in the Co-ops. Right now students can only have ESAs at Fenwick and Rochdale which are two of the apartment level co-ops. I think if the dog or animal is trained properly and is in the room and the door is locked a bolted when the student isn't in the room they most likely wouldn't be able to do any damage to the rest of the co-op. Of course this depends on what kind of animal it is. I don't think you are going to have a horse, or larger animal than a dog or cat in your room. And I think we could also have a comprise if there are concerns about allergies or other things. I think we could have a specific wing or floor where the ESAs and/or Service Animals would be. And if it becomes really popular maybe in the future there could be a ESA and Service Animal theme co-op.
