The Issue

I paid $11,000 to Ana Flores of Ana Flores Events ,and got nothing. No vendors. No wedding plans 30 days before the event . No refund. I won in court, but she still hasn’t paid. Families and vendors across California are losing thousands while unlicensed planners keep operating without accountability. Sign to demand change and require licensing, bonding, and real enforcement.

Imagine paying a wedding planner and getting nothing but lies the year long planning was all a fantasy not real. No vendors, no plans, no wedding, no accountabilty and protected by a contract. Then imagine that same planner taking you to court when you called her out by trying to use a restraining order to silence you.

That’s what happened to me.

On September 3, 2022, we signed a contract with Ana Flores of Ana Flores Events for our civil and reception wedding just two months away. The total package was $31,000, with a required $11,000 upfront to “get started.”

She looked legitimate  with a

  • “Top Vendor” badge on The Knot
  •  a physical office
  •  a website, 30K+ Instagram followers
  •  glowing reviews.

On paper, she seemed credible. That’s what convinced us  and many others to trust her with so much money so quickly.

In just one week, she had our $11,000. And what did we get? Nothing. Not a single vendor. Not a single real plan. We ended up planning our own civil wedding in Las Vegas, just to have something.

When I pressed for answers, she  offered to “cover the remaining balance of the wedding” if I removed negative reviews and gave her a second chance. We agreed and once again failed to meet her contractual duties . She even filed frivolous claims against me in court to try and silence me, all while still refusing to pay back what she owed.

On June 11, 2024, the judge ruled in my favor: she owes us $10,000. But years later, I am still unpaid. Winning in court means nothing when there’s no enforcement.

And I am not alone. Families have lost $5,000, $20,000, even $200,000 this same way. Vendors too  photographers, florists, caterers  left unpaid after reserving time and resources.

This isn’t just bad business. It’s a broken system that allows repeat offenders to keep preying on families and small businesses — because wedding planners face no licensing, no bonding, and no accountability.
