Spread the word not the virus

Dear Doug Ford,
I’m reaching out to you in hopes of getting some clarity around the novel coronavirus pandemic. I strongly believe that the province has taken tremendous strides towards keeping Canadians as safe as possible but I do feel that we can do more. I understand why front line workers like firefighters, police officers, paramedics, or even essential businesses like grocery stores, banks, and pharmacies remain open and on duty.
Though I cannot understand why the shopping malls are still continuing to operate when we are all asked to self-isolate. They are a place where hundreds if not thousands of people gather in somewhat close proximity of one another which can increase the potential spread of the coronavirus. Myself and thousands of other Canadians have signed a petition in the hopes of shutting these malls down. They are not essential services and pose a high risk to the general public.
My question to you premier is why are some retailers (even within the malls) closing their doors to do their part but not the entire mall?
Let’s shut the malls down.
Close shopping malls IMMEDIATELY to prevent the spread of COVID-19! Sign and Share the petition
