Petitioning Leader of Essex County Council Cllr David Malcolm Finch and 1 other

Save the 250 and 251 bus routes

Essex County Council has proposed withdrawing funding for the 250 Waltham Cross to Debden and 251 Waltham Cross to Upshire services from Monday to Saturday. This would leave no buses going through Waltham Abbey after approximately 7.30pm, effectively stranding bus users in Waltham Abbey after that time.

This will have a particular impact on hospitality businesses, anybody who works outside office hours, young people and carers. It would also exclude local people from participating in local democracy and community organisations.

We the undersigned call on Essex County Council to:

  1. Halt proposals to withdraw support for the 250 and 251 bus routes
  2. Begin working closely with Epping Forest's local communities, organisations, councils and bus operators to find ways to increase bus use.
This petition will be delivered to:
  • Leader of Essex County Council
    Cllr David Malcolm Finch
  • Essex County Council Cabinet member with resonsibility for Passenger Transport, including buses.
    Cllr Ray Gooding
