In a few months, Ross will mark his 11-year prison anniversary, officially starting his 12th year in prison. It is hard to believe that he has been locked in a cell for this long.
For 2024, Ross's resolution has been to do 12 one-month resolutions. This approach has helped him stay positive and goal-oriented.
Below are messages from Ross published on Twitter/X this year:
May:
My resolution for May is to continue doing daily acts of kindness. It’s been good for me and helps me get out of my shell.
April:
For April, my resolution is to do at least one act of kindness a day. Today I returned the empty food tray of the prisoner sitting next to me.
March:
I'm going to continue doing negative visualization for my March resolution. It has helped me gain perspective and appreciate what I have.
February:
My February resolution is to practice negative visualization each day. The idea is to imagine, in great depth, losing something you value but often take for granted. Once you truly feel what it'd be like, open your eyes & feel as much gratitude as you can. It works. Try it out!
January (the year started with a 6-week prison lockdown):
My January resolution was to eat healthier. So far during this lockdown, all that’s come through the slot in the cell door is bread and baloney :( This might be more difficult than I thought.
We continue to remain hopeful. We're so grateful for everyone's support. Thank you for signing and sharing this clemency petition!
