Clean As You Go: Take Responsibility for Your Own Mess
The Issue
Have you ever eaten somewhere and simply left your trash on the table, thinking that someone else will clean it for you?
This may seem like a small thing, but it can become a bigger problem when many people think the same way.
I am creating this petition to promote the practice of CLAYGO, or Clean As You Go. I believe that when we eat in restaurants, food stalls, schools, parks, streets, or other public places, we should be responsible for the mess and trash we make.
Cleaning our own mess is not only the job of the crew, waiter, or cleaner. They are there to help maintain the place, but we should also do our part. Leaving our trash behind can make their work harder and can make places dirty and unpleasant for other people.
CLAYGO is not only about keeping a table clean. It is about having the mindset of responsibility and respect.
If you are eating outside and there is no trash bin nearby, you can simply keep your trash in your bag or hold onto it until you find a proper place to throw it away. It may only take a little effort, but that small action can make a difference.
What I am asking for?
I am asking everyone to support and practice CLAYGO — Clean As You Go.
Before leaving a place, take a moment to ask yourself:
“Did I clean up after myself?”
Let us not always depend on someone else to clean the mess we made.
If each person takes responsibility for their own trash, we can help create cleaner places, show respect to people who work hard to keep our surroundings clean, and become more responsible members of our community.
Clean as you go. Respect the place. Respect the people. Take responsibility for your own mess.
Please sign this petition and help spread the message of CLAYGO.
