The minister still refuses to listen to commuters! In a recent letter from the transport minister, I have been fobbed off yet again. In his last letter his response was "No plans at this time". His most recent response is that he is: "...pleased to advise an initiative has been identified in the Regional NSW Services and Infrastructure Plan to investigate rail services between Cessnock and Newcastle, via Kurri Kurri". I am then told for more information I may wish to see their website for future transport. Well, I don't know exactly what they mean by identifying and "initiative", but I do know that an initiative is NOT a railway line! Nor does the Government's website say anything about the Cessnock Railway.  Please encourage others to sign the petition and I would be pleased if as many of you as possible could write to the transport minister telling him why you need the line and asking when the first train is due. The minister can be contacted care of Parliament House, Sydney or emailed at: bega@parliament.nsw.au Please let the minister know that an initiative will NOT transport people anywhere. Many thanks Kate.
