The MNPS School Board will not allow graduating seniors to wear most stoles, cords, or other graduation accessories on graduation day. They can only be worn if they are from a Career and Technical Student Organization, such as DECA, HOSA, or TSA. However, the student must have made it to nationals. This also means that students will not get cords for graduating with distinctions, honors, being in a club, or for passing a Nationally Board Certified Exam such as those needed to become a CET, Pharmacy Technician, or Medical Assistant. This is unjust, as past classes have been allowed to display their accomplishments on the one day they have worked hard for for over 12 years. The Class of 2019 should be given this opportunity, as should the future graduating classes.
