It’s actually really heartbreaking to be an NHS nurse right now. Along with being £65000 in debt to get here and being refused fair pay ever since, they’ve announced today that unlike Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, NHS staff in England won’t be getting any form of financial recognition for their contribution to the pandemic. The most heartbreaking thing about it all for me isn’t even the fact that I feel so broken down and under valued by this government. The most heartbreaking thing, is that no-body seems to care. Yesterday the whole country was in uproar at the thought of a European football super league - they acted up and took action until bad decisions were reversed and wrongs were made right on the very same day. Our freaking prime minister called a crisis summit. Tomorrow everyone will go about their normal lives despite the latest dagger in our backs - no one will stand up for us except us and there’s only so much we can do ourselves because we’re too busy caring about everybody else. We’ll smile like we always do, but inside we’ll be hurting.
Truly, gut-wrenchingly heartbreaking ⚕️
