CHC Remove 225 Super Puma from service

Helicopter chiefs in Aberdeen today announced that they will no longer be using the EC225 Super Puma airframe for North Sea flights which is fantastic news. I hope that this is the first step by those who make these decisions that we are on the road tl seeing the permanent removal of this airframe which has lost the trust of offshore workers, our friends and families Its a travesty that the CAA have absolved themselves from getting involved and of making a pre-emptive decision to safeguard British lives by claiming that they cannot act as the removal of the Air Worthiness Certificate is down to the European Aviation Authority , the EASA Whatever comes of the Norwegian investigation into the helicopter crash last month the question will have to be asked at a later date just what is the point of the CAA if they cannot act unilaterally in the interest of safety for British workers? However i just wanted to thank each and every one of you for taking the time to have signed and shared this petition, because whilst i'm under no illusion that it didnt bring about todays decision , it certainly won't have harmed it either.
