Vindication of our petition to save the Zandvlei. The vlei is closed for for recreational activities for a second week:

Zandvlei remains closed

As an update to the state of the Zandvlei waterbody and closure that is currently in effect, please be advised that following the receipt of recent water quality test results, the waterbody shall REMAIN CLOSED until further notice. No recreational activities are permitted on the Zandvlei waterbody.

Whilst the water quality has improved, e.coli levels remain elevated above the acceptable threshold for safe intermediate contact. Further sampling will be conducted next week, the results of which will be communicated once available.
