Banning a breed does not solve the problem of irresponsible dog owners. In Winnipeg, there are still "maulings" as the media likes to play with the word, and dog bites have not gone down substantially. We need to change this type of legislation as it adds to the negativity around the subjects and in no way promotes positive ownership. The American Pit Bull Terrier is an amazing dog, a great pet, and a very loving and loyal companion to all. The city of Winnipeg and their outdated council needs to redo their homework and look beyond the ignorance of the few and find a way to fix this unjust wrong. Look at any highly rated obedience trainer and ask them, they will say nothing but good for this amazing breed of dog. Thank you.
