The character house motion is coming back to council Oct. 22.

Clr. Colleen Hardwick's motion that went to City Council on Oct. 1 was withdrawn. Unfortunately it was proposed by Clr. Adriane Carr for the motion to be referred back to staff as part of the City-wide Plan that could have delayed implementation for possibly 3 years, or if ever implemented at all. So Clr. Hardwick withdrew the motion to avoid this referral.

After minor amendments for clarity and input from other councillors, the revised motion will likely go to council on Oct. 22. We will advise once the meeting agenda is posted with the links to the revised motion.  

Motion: Increasing Affordable Housing Options Through Character House Incentives in RS Zones  

The motion still proposes changes to RS zones to protect character houses like we had asked for under the Character House Zoning Review that were not previously implemented.
