After decades of being one of Toronto's icons, Honest Ed's is set for demolition in June.

While it's been a Toronto icon since its installation in 1984, the dazzling sign will not be preserved as part of this process.

The sign is historic. It is iconic. While there is an argument against preserving it due to the sustainability costs - high electricity intake and cost - one could argue that the sign can be preserved without being lit.

We are fighting to keep the sign as part of Toronto's history. This is a heritage item and needs to be preserved as such. Let's ask the City of Toronto to recognize this sign and to do whatever it takes to make the developer keep it.
