UPDATE: Planning and Development Committee Meeting

Jay CooperSydney, Australia
May 8, 2017
The Planning and Development Committee of the City of Sydney met this evening to hear from objectors and there is considerable concern about the proposal and how it will affect the neighbouring buildings in terms of privacy, noise, shadowing, access and amenity. The council had preliminarily considered approving the development proposal subject to preparing and executing a Voluntary Planning Agreement for the conversion of Lower Campbell Street to a one-way shared zone, and other conditions of consent. However following tonight’s meeting which heard from objectors, we have JUST ONE MORE WEEK to solidify our objections and present our arguments to councillors before they make their decision on Monday 15 May. A number of councillors have raised their concerns about the development proposal, the negative effects it will have and the precedent that it may set for future developments in the city. With a united voice we can work to block this development proposal which is completely unsuitable for the area. Please remember to share the petition link with your friends, family and neighbours that will be adversely affected by this development.
