Our proud community of color does not wish to see their homes, businesses and history bulldozed by eminent domain. The City of St. Louis is unnecessarily displacing us while the NGA has 3 other sites it can consider for its new headquarters. We have been told that our homes built in the 1800's are no longer viable, as redevelopment projects in similar neighborhoods like Old North St Louis, Benton Park and Soulard are praised and promoted. We have been told that our properties must be demolished so that the City can prosper, but our neighborhood’s proximity to the revitalized downtown area would spur development if the City would only stop its land grab. Please take a few minutes to submit your comments on the NGA’s most recent report on the potential sites for its new headquarters. Help us save our homes and an important part of local history. The public comment period for the draft statement will be February 29, 2016, through March 21, 2016.
