Dear Supporters,

This past Thursday (20 Oct) Springboro's city council approved the proposed settlement for Easton Farm. The city approved this settlement despite thousands of citizens demonstrating their opposition. Our council has proven with their vote that they are unwilling to stand up for our city's character and our citizens' well being and they shall forever be held responsible for forever changing the character of this city and harming the general welfare of its residents. This development risks setting a dangerous precedent as future developers will see that all it takes to develop in this city is the threat of potential financial damages. Likely intentionally, the city passed this proposed settlement as an emergency ordinance which prevents a citizen referendum.

Those in opposition will continue to monitor and fight the Easton Farm situation in any way possible. The next step is for plans to be re-submitted to the planning commission. If you'd like to stay involved, ensure you read future emails from this petition and consider joining the "Springboro Residents United" group on Facebook.

I'd like to thank everyone who banded together to oppose this development. Early on, we had great success convincing city council to stand up for its citizens and vote this development down. However, the threat of litigation and potential damages was apparently too much for our council to stand up to and in the end money won over citizen rights.

Thank you!
