Meeting today regarding Parks/Recreation at 6-7:30 pm on ShapeSSF.com.

Thank you ALL for your continued support in saving Cypress Park and what it signifies to Old Town, in having a neighborhood playground for youth to enjoy!

This is the 2nd part of petition and appreciate support thus far!

Thoughts for sincere consideration from city are as follows. Your continued support are immensely appreciated!

The existing play structures at Cypress Park are outdated and one of them was removed, leaving only the teen swing set operable (another play structure is rarely used, if at all). There is a need for infant swings and appropriate and adequate number of age appropriate play structures. Trees are essential for not only providing much needed shade, but also for efforts in combating climate change.

Along with Cypress Park, the community has gone through a lot of pain and hurt, making us numb, and what more appropriate way to provide healing, is through community pride and cultural appreciation with a KIOSK and community art/park space at Pine/Linden Ave.

Seniors do not have an adequate safe space to combat loneliness and improvements to Pine/Linden lot along with benches and trees will serve such purpose to combat this loneliness, encourage outdoors and provide a safe space.

As part of the General Plan process (20 year vision plan), there will be a meeting today to express the need of having an attractive and safe neighborhood playgrounds and park needs for respective neighborhoods and city as a whole.
