Thank you for reading my petition. I have had Porkchop since he was 13 weeks old. We adopted him not aware of the No Swine Law in San Antonio. We had only read about Mini Pigs being considered as Pets so we brought him home to be a part of our Family. When we first adopted Porkchop  he was not taken care of by the breeder we adopted him from because of the condition of his skin. His skin was completely red, had a bad rash and he was wrapped in a dirty filthy towel. We just took him and drove off and knew from the beginning this Sweet Baby boy needed a loving home. It has now been 2 1/2 yrs and My son accidently left the side gate open and Porkchop wandered down the street only a few blocks down when I was not home. The Police and San Antonio Animal Care Services brought him back. He didn't do anything wrong and they served me with a Citation and 30 days to rehome him. I couldn't believe it! I told them he was a Pet and not for commercial purposes and all they said was yes but because of the no swine law its illegal. He has brought so much joy into my life and I love him so much. I can't and don't want to image my life without him. He is my rock and makes my days brighter when I am down. This is not fair or right that after 2 1/2 years of loving him and giving him a forever home he is being forced to be rehomed, when he has a home with my family and I. He does not deserve to be taken away from the only family he has ever known. I don't see him being any different than any other Pet you adopt wanting to give a Forever home. A wonderful person through a Mini Pig Support group offered to take him in temporarily so I can try and fight to change the law or make an exception. Please help spread the word and sign this petition to bring Porkchop back home. He is a Mini Pig Pet not Livestock!!
