There has been movement on the demo permit ordinance change, but they're trying to completely water it down by only requesting a 10 day notice and only posting on the city website instead of big signage on the properties as is done with liquor permit and rezoning notices. There is a public meeting this Monday at 2p and we need as many people there as possible to voice their thoughts. There should be a 30 day waiting period prior to any demolition. Signage should be posted on the property for those 30 days so community has a chance to weigh in, and the cultural, historical and architectural significance of the building to that specific neighborhood should be taken into account PRIOR to approving a demolition permit.
