Petition updateLegalize Tiny Homes in Oakland

Law change coming- WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Tiny Logic
May 12, 2021

Thanks to your support:

  1. A new law change that would legalize Tiny Homes in Oakland has been moved forward and is scheduled to be introduced in the coming weeks.
  2. City Council is now aware of what is happening
  3. We have filed an Appeal and stopped the escalation of $5610 in fines.

We reviewed a copy of the proposed law changes and they do not go far enough. We estimate we will need to raise nearly $90,000 to install a sewer line, grid power, and other site improvements to comply with the new law. But these paywalls are not necessary if Oakland is serious about affordable housing options.

Two Requests:

  1. Please consider donating to our Go-Fund Me page. When you donate through change.org it does not go to our project, it goes to change.org to promote our petition.
  2. We need your ideas and support in making this new Tiny Home Law actually meaningful in the pursuit of shelter. Please consider emailing us to join our policy think tank to edit the proposed law at admin@neighborship.org.
