DO NOT REMOVE 78 HERITAGE TREES

A request to remove 78 Heritage trees from 201 San Antonio Circle and adjacent streets has been requested. This includes at least 53 Redwood trees, some of which are estimated to be more than 50 years old. This will diminish the beauty and property value of our neighborhood. It will also remove the habitat of many migrant birds and other wildlife such as raccoons, squirrels and opossums, and will negatively impact the area's air quality and add to global warming.
While a new development is needed in this area, I strongly believe it can be done while preserving most of these Heritage trees. We need to oppose the shear stripping of all the vegetation, and make the builders accountable to being thoughtful about what they destroy as they build, how they intent to build, and the impact on the our community.
