Update - The momentum continues, a new poster and Yarraville Festival info

1. Exposure update: The campaign has since attracted the interest of some elected MPs - after the extensive media coverage. The campaign continues to have a direct line to journalists who first reported on the issue and will continue to engage in dialogue with the media to continue to advocate for the removal of the Polka dots.

Please continue to share the petition, make your community aware of this issue and continue the advocacy - with the petition now nearing 500 supporters.

3. Yarraville festival and Maribyrnong council tent - On the Maribyrnong city council Facebook page they have posted an update (Thursday 25th March at 9pm) - link: https://www.facebook.com/Maribyrnong/posts/5311108568930594

This reads: "We’ll be popping up at Yarraville Festival this Sunday between 10am – 4pm to chat to visitors about the recently installed polka dot traffic calming measure. These conversations are important in understanding what the community thinks about the treatment. If you’re heading down to the Festival, be sure to come and have your say! "

We encourage the community to visit the council tent to express their views on this important issue. Importantly to express your view in a civil, respectful and productive manner to help achieve the outcome this campaign (and the community) seeks.

Their recent post says: "This year looks different in many ways and the Yarraville Festival is no different. This year everyone needs to pre-register to attend, once you register for free at https://yarravillefestival.intix.com/ you will receive an email with your unique barcode to get in. Please have this barcode ready when you arrive for contact tracing purposes as you enter and depart the festival. We do have capacity limits throughout the day, if you arrive and are told we have hit capacity, please be patient and we will let you in as soon as we are under capacity again. We expect peak time to be between 12pm - 2pm so please plan your day accordingly."
