Did you know that a majority of Canadians support a conversion therapy ban? So, why is it taking so long for our governments to take action?

When asked whether “conversion therapy” should be banned in Canada, almost three-in-five Canadians (58 percent) believe that a prohibition is definitely or probably warranted. This is a view espoused by 65 percent of British Columbians, 62 percent of women, and 61 percent of Canadians aged 18-to-34.

Sadly though, across the country, 25 percent of Canadians believe that it is possible for individuals who identify themselves as LGBTQ2S+ to be “converted” into heterosexuals through psychological or spiritual intervention. This is one of the reasons why a ban is so important! (Research Co July 2019)

Governments at every level, including the City of Kelowna, need to hear from us and understand how important this issue is. Please take a moment to share the petition and tag the City of Kelowna on their social media accounts.
