I am calling on the city of Halifax and the HRSB to step up and protect our kids! Give them their RIGHT to a SAFE education. CLOSE J.L. Ilsley High school and transfer students to another safe school until J.L.Ilsley is in a safe condition for ALL.

The Issue

This school is 45 years old. It is falling apart. Kids are fearful of being hurt as the ceiling falls in around themLive wires are exposed while water pours out of the ceiling!  Our children and the teachers are entitled to a SAFE teaching environment. THIS school FAILS to meet this expectation! This issue needs to be addressed NOW! The mold content isn't known but it's a given considering the water damage that's all over the place. I'm asking the HRSB to do something NOW! Bus the students to a safer place till this school is fixed IN FULL! Once this is done MANY students in the future will want to go to a school that doesn't make them sick or ashamed for attending.  till then, I think parents should remove their kids from this unsafe environment.
