There is a road in Flowery Branch, Georgia named "Jim Crow Rd". The longstanding history of slavery and mistreatment of African Americans is being represented by this street name. The Jim Crow Laws were a cruel and restricting way of life, and even 150 years later, there is still a stigma to living on a street by that name.

For many residents, they fear the criticism from people when they say where they live. And even in 2019, there are still blacks who refuse to live on the street because of the name. However, when you look up the story of the street name, it isn't related to the Jim Crow Laws, but to a resident named Jim Crow. He owned the most property and was well known in the area as the man everyone could go to. And so, when the street was paved and the area developed, the townspeople wished to acknowledge his importance in their community.

Honoring the man, Jim Crow, is important to his grandchildren and the rest of the Crow family. Losing the name has been a longstanding issue for the community and for the family. For this reason, Team WaywardArchangels would like to make a suggestion to the town of Flowery Branch to change the name from Jim Crow Road to Crow Road. This will remove the negative connotation, and make people feel more comfortable announcing which street they live on, while also still honoring the family and the importance that Jim Crow had for that community.
