Tell City of EP to not spend taxpayer dollars to advertise destroying Lost Dog trails

Tell City of EP to not spend taxpayer dollars to advertise destroying Lost Dog trails
The Issue
On the May 2019 ballot is a proposition (Prop A) requested by El Paso voter signatures to preserve Lost Dog (aka TIRZ 12) forever. On Tuesday April 23, the El Paso city employees will request spending El Paso tax dollars on advertising suggesting that preserving this natural desert space somehow costs $11.3mil. As a native El Pasoan, I've never heard it suggested that volunteer-created trails in the open desert costs millions to "maintain". Not only is this number either questionable or outright false, they would like to spend more El Paso tax money on this ad push to trick El Pasoans into believing this.
If TIRZ 12 is built, not only would it permanently destroy over 12 miles of trails created by your fellow El Pasoans, but it would let a private developer keep 25% of the tax revenue generated by these lots.
Please sign this petition if you would like your city council representatives to vote no on spending your government dollars to aid a private developer demolish the most accessible trail system in El Paso.
