The City of Edmonton is changing and it is a beautiful thing! We are growing our appeal and have a lot of chances to make our city unique. 

With population growth comes the need to focus on our Transit Systems, many changes  are planned for the future and we would like to make sure it includes a simple statement:

WE COMMIT TO A GREEN FUTURE

We ask that the City adopts a Green Roof Transit Shelter project such as the one in Philidephia.

Not only would this benifeit our City in terms of beauty but it also provides many other important benefits:

• -Helps to ease the summer heat.
• -Reduces the amount of rain water that makes its way to the sewer.
• -Reduces the pollution and flooding that impacts streams and rivers.
• -Depending on the plants used it could attract and help prosper many species of insects(like Bees) and birds.
• -Educates and advocates green living in everyday life.

We urge the City to take these steps to make the most of our City.
