Safeguard Midmar Paddock

Safeguard Midmar Paddock

The Issue

Midmar Paddock in Morningside is back up for Sale and currently Under Offer.

Sign this community petition now to make clear to city planners, the land owner, selling agent and any potential buyer that you are opposed to development of housing on this beautiful, valuable green space.

Midmar Paddock lies west of Blackford Hill in Edinburgh and is currently enjoyed by hundreds weekly, offering a picturesque passage to Blackford Pond, the Hermitage of Braid and Blackford Hill.

Despite a previously successful community campaign to prevent development and afford special protected planning status - something which must be maintained - the Paddock is again under threat.

Prior to conclusion of any sale and submission of a fresh planning application to Edinburgh Council, sign this petition to make clear from the outset the scale of community opposition to development.

Following a recent public meeting on the matter - attended by hundreds of residents and all main political parties - people made clear to me they favoured a multi-pronged community approach to saving the Paddock. As Local Councillor for Morningside, I am launching this non-partisan community petition to help enhance these efforts.

Together, lets Save Midmar Paddock.

Yours sincerely,

Councillor Nick Cook
