The DNR uses $5 million in Federal funds to create a poorly planned and executed fish habitat project on one end of the island, while the other end is encased in concrete to support its impulse to be a motorsports venue.
This follows planting 120 cherry trees along Sunset Drive that get to be surrounded with chain link fencing during the Grand Prix debacle, and contracting with world-renowned garden planner Piet Oudolf to design a new garden that overlaps the Grand Prix footprint.
