We just reached 3000 signatures! Although their meetings are on recess until August, Davis City Council is on our side and working with students and other cities to find a solution specific to renters in Davis.

This movement has become so much bigger than what I expected when I wrote this petition last week and I'm excited and determined to make sure we get protections in place for student renters not just in Davis, but for students all over the state. A citywide solution can only do so much, but combined efforts between student leaders throughout the state can make a much more meaningful impact. Also, make sure you contact your local Assemblymembers and Senators to make sure they are on our side, too.

For Davis, that is Assemblymember Cecilia Aguiar-Curry and Senator Bill Dodd.

Tell them who you are, your situation, and that you want them to advocate for student renters who are unable to cancel their leases or find roommates to offset the cost of rent.
