Thank you to everyone who has reached out, donated, and sent toys and goodies to us for Rusty! We have an update regarding his case.

The appellate oral argument has been set for October 29th. This is a formal process where each side has a limited time to present their legal argument and answer any questions from the three judge panel. As this is a very formal process we ask you send your positive support for our attorneys in thought rather than in person that day. Once arguments are concluded the cases are considered submitted and we wait for an opinion to issue from the appellate panel.

Either way the decision goes, a party can appeal the decision to the Texas Supreme Court. We so appreciate everyone’s support and ask that you continue to support #RescueRusty by sending chews and durable toys to Rusty for his entertainment as he also waits for this long process to resolve.

Please know that while we may not be able to see Rusty every day the staff at Dallas Animal Services checks on him and updates us on his status frequently. So, while he may be out of sight to us, he is never out of our minds. We love him, as we do all the animals that enter our program, and we will fight to the very end to save his life.
