My mission is to stop the use of neonicotinoids, a key ingredient in many popular pesticides that harms honeybees and has caused a large decline in their population, in the city of Bettendorf. An ideal outcome would be the ban of neonicotinoids across the country, however there are many steps we must take before we can achieve that result. I plan to petition the city itself to ban the use of neonicotinoids within its borders, as well as promote awareness for the decline in honeybee population. Hopefully with more exposure, we can stop the use of neonicotinoids altogether, and help the honeybee population return to its once impressive numbers.
