CALL FOR NC STATE AUDIT OF ELIZABETH CITY UTILITY BILLING
0 have signed. Let’s get to 1,000!
For over 10 months, citizens under the Elizabeth City Utilities service have been the victims of a failed software conversion from an old, antiquated software program to a supposedly new and modern software program. Through Elizabeth City Management in charge of the software conversion, utility billing of services to the public have fallen months behind, bills received have been inaccurate, or not even received. Elizabeth City citizens have seen massive bills, double and triple charges, lost payments, charges for residences no longer occupied by the owner or renter. Citizens that accidentally overpaid are not being refunded, or deposits being held for no cause. Citizens have flooded City Council meetings for months with little to no action seen from the City Council or the Mayor. City Council has yet to put a deadline on the City Manager to resolve the issue that plagues many citizens of our community. Some feel our elected officials of Elizabeth City NC are strongly divided on how to properly address this issue, or afraid to hold the City manager accountable for the City's mismanagement of a failed software conversion that has already cost the city upwards of one hundred thousand dollars. Please join our cause by signing our petition to get the State of North Carolina and Attorney General Stein to conduct an investigation and full audit into the Elizabeth City utility billing problems. The citizens of Elizabeth City have lost all trust and faith in our leadership to properly and accurately bill its utility customers and faithfully run this City.
