Petition update
Exciting News
Apr 1, 2016 — Dear Supporters,
We have exciting news! Thanks in large part to your efforts, Michael Scott has decided to withdraw his proposed project and go back to the drawing board! Thank you so much for taking the time to sign our petition and for leaving such helpful comments. This is a win for our community. We believe that every person has the right to build the house of their dreams, but not when it negatively impacts others.
Last week, Councilmember Koretz declared that he would not support Michael Scott’s project. We want to thank him for his decision to support us, and for the vigilance and tireless efforts of the Benedict Canyon Association, the Bel Air Beverly Crest Neighborhood Council, the Hillside Federation, and all of you who signed this petition, wrote letters, made calls, talked to your neighbors and attended the hearings. Through you, our community came together to protect one another, and we can be proud of that accomplishment.
We know the decision to withdraw his project was not easy, and as such we want to thank Michael Scott for hearing our concerns and making the decision to start over. We stand ready to work with him in a collaborative process that allows him to go forward with a home on his property while making sure that there are not negative impacts on our community.
To stay in touch with us, please send us an email at SaveOurHillsides@gmail.com. If there are new developments, we will update you.
Most sincerely, and with great thanks.
