648 Signatures and Counting!

Congratulations! Your voice was definitely heard. Mayor Dwain Morrison, Councilwoman Charlotte Farmer, Councilman Marty Self, Councilman Rodney Fleming and Councilman Johnny Silvas all received 648 emails over the last 39 hours, which is mind-boggling. The goal of 500 was achieved in 23 hours, 57 minutes. I personally experienced the influx of 518 emails from supporters that wanted to investigate the San Angelo Water Department back in November 2012, and that covered a 45 day period. This was in 1 1/2 days! The City Council meeting is only hours away. To express your views during the meeting, go to www.facebook.com/SanAngeloTexas (The San Angelo Connection FB Page) and look for the designated post with a current picture of the City Council and post your comments under that post. I'll tell you from experience, some of the council members will peek in to see what you are saying, so be polite, but firm regarding your opinions. Inappropriate comments will be removed. I will be personally presenting the 648+ signatures to the City Council and I will specify that each of you agreed with all 7 points made and signed your name to them. While they may not understand the significance of their actions thus far, we do. I will push for a new RFP process and for them to adhere to business-savvy principles and ethical standards becoming of elected officials. We are serious; they will clearly know our position in this matter. I cannot thank you enough for putting your name on this petition. I realize it is a bit uncomfortable to some to take on a higher profile position and speak up. I've been there hundreds of times by now, and I will protect the dignity of each and every one of you for taking this political risk. You are all patriots in my eyes, all working together as one.
