Please thank the City Council for taking a first step!

The City Council at its Oct. 14 regular meeting directed the city attorney to look into a possible ordinance prohibiting wild animal displays. The council intently listened to what we had to say, and Councilwoman Molly Tasker asked the city attorney and received consensus from the council to take this first step. The city attorney stated Mayor Kathy Meehan, who was absent from the meeting, also expressed concern over this issue and initially asked him to research a possible ordinance following the caged lion in the bar. Please thank the City Council for taking this important first step and continue to urge them to enact a ban on wild animal displays.
