Stop press! Boris Johnson has refused London City Airport’s expansion plans, saying it "does not adequately mitigate and manage its adverse noise impacts". In a letter to Newham Council, he overruled the recent approval of City Airport's planning application to expand facilities to allow for more cars and larger planes to use the airport. You can read the letter here: tinyurl.com/q4a47nc We can't think of better news to start the weekend with! Thank you for all your support in writing letters and responding to Newham's consultation - it just goes to show that by joining together, we can make a difference. Of course, this is just one battle in our fight against City Airport flying planes over our homes. We still are waiting for the CAA's review into City Airport's flight path plans - we'll be in touch as soon as we have some news. In the meantime, help us spread the word by displaying a poster in your window and handing them out to neighbours: tinyurl.com/pbvta93 ~Eleanor & Adam
