The Canada Spousal Sponsorship Petitioners group is initiating a meaningful direct dialogue with Minister John McCallum for the spousal sponsorship backlog that has been an unresolved - abandon issue under the Conservatives government for the past few years. We would like Minister John McCallum, along with the newly elected Liberals, to address spousal sponsorship issues immediately with no further excuses or delays, including such actions as clearing current backlog of almost 2 year wait, implement a clear and fair guideline in granting Open Work Permit to Inland sponsorship applications including those who have lost status, and cease the Condition 51 (conditional permanent residence imposed to foreign sponsored spouses) for all spouses who have landed in the past 2 years or will be landing in the future. We are contacting Minister John McCallum MP riding office to set up an in-person meeting with Minister McCallum in Ottawa, and we are getting some positive responses from his staff. For full details, you can check out our webpage http://www.inlandsponsorship.ca/john-mccallum-communications-project/ We will provide more updates as we progress with the meeting.
