All Hands on Deck Dec. 10 at 1pm to Bring Energy Choice to Irvine!

All hands on deck! This is the moment we've been waiting for, and we need your help to get CCE across the finish line. #YEStoChoice
Here’s How to Help:
- Come to Irvine City Hall December 10 at 1:00pm*! *Please note the meeting time has changed to a Special Study Session Council meeting at 1:00PM. Don't forget to arrive early!
- Tweet and Tag the Council! @SHEAonIRVINE @anthonykuo @FarrahNK @melissajoifox, 200+ Irvine residents have spoken! Implement #CommunityChoiceEnergy (CCE) Now! #YEStoChoice
Here are 3 major points we need the Council to hear loud and clear:
1. YES to the Freedom of Choice
We deserve the freedom to choose our energy provider. We don’t have that choice, while at least 10 million other families across California do. It’s our turn for Community Choice.
2. YES to Irvine Partnering with Other Cities
The majority of CCE programs are a partnership between cities through a Joint Powers Authority. This establishes an independent nonprofit public power agency, which will reduce risks and liabilities to Irvine's General Fund. We agree that this is the fiscally responsible way forward.
3. YES to Direct Staff to Actively Reach Out to Potential JPA Partner CitiesWe know that working together works best. That is why we want Irvine to partner up with our neighbors and lead the way. Staff can only find partners if Council explicitly gives that direction, so we need you to ask the city to reach out to Orange County cities big and small, like Huntington Beach, Costa Mesa, Yorba Linda, Santa Ana, Fullerton, and all 34 cities.
