Good Morning, Supporters! We have now surpassed 5,500 signatures along with dozens more comments, totaling thousands of comments alone. We have bombarded the superintendent and board members throughout the week w/this info along with suggestions, ideas, and a willingness to collaborate w/them to have our choice reinstated. We continue to be ignored by Superintendent Ragsdale, but we have heard that there is supposed to be a vote this morning to push back the start date for everyone, including virtual, to Sept. 8th, which is something we highly suggested to allow them more time to work out the logistics of a face to face plan for those of us who deserve it and want it and demand it. Looks like we're making real progress! I will be doing a TV interview with WSBTV-2 tomorrow morning about this. We urge each of you to reach out yourselves to the superintendent with your complaints and displeasure over his decision, and please continue to share this petition just as much as you possibly can. Whether you or those you know are residents of or parents in Cobb County does not matter; anyone can sign this petition, and as we all know, this is a far deeper issue that will more than likely affect all school districts soon enough. We have signatures from all over the country, obviously the vast majority from here in Cobb County. The Director of the CDC did many interviews himself yesterday with various news outlets stating that he would "absolutely" send his grandchildren back to school because the risks of not going in person to school far outweigh any risks to them of contracting and spreading Covd-19.
